Northern Pines Staff

Bob, Carol, Michelle, and Bo Ford

Carol, Michelle & Bob Ford, and BoWelcome to the Northern Pines Camp website from the Ford family: Bob, Carol, Michelle, and Bo, the family dog.

Bob currently serves as the Director of Northern Pines under special appointment by Bishop John Hopkins of the Minnesota Annual Conference. Bob has experienced Northern Pines as a camper, counselor, camp dean, and board member.

Carol currently serves as the camp's Food Supervisor and has been involved with many aspects of camp operation. She has a degree in Elementary Education and 5 years experience in restaurant management.

Michelle helps with many areas of camp life including counseling, canteen sales, running errands, and being a camper herself.

Bo, the dog, is usually around to welcome campers and enjoy the extra pats on the head, but then she retreats to her favorite hangout near the house.

Northern Pines is a special place for our family, to be and to serve. We believe that God has called us to this ministry of serving at Northern Pines. It has been gratifying to see the changes and improvements to the camp that have enriched the camping experience while expanding the opportunities for people to grow as Christians.

Roger Henderson

Roger Henderson

Roger began working at Northern Pines in the spring of 2003 as the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor. His responsibilities include repairing everything that breaks or wears out on site. He is skilled in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and welding to name just a few.

Along with making repairs, Roger also works on improving the camp's facilities in an effort to make Northern Pines an even better place to visit. Some of the recent projects Roger has worked on have been refurbishing the camp's pool table, constructing a new carpet ball table, repairing the walk-in freezer, reinforcing the docks, and installing a water line for the arts and crafts building.

Roger grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ as his savior when he was seven. He has been an active church member, serving on boards and working with the youth. He and his wife Jan celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary in June. They have an astounding 53 children, 3 biological, and 50 foster children.
