Northern Pines is a remarkable place that gives people from all around the country an opportunity to enjoy northern Minnesota and experience God's love, grace, and power.
Part of what makes Northern Pines a success is the hundreds of volunteers who donate their time and abilities in an effort to make camp wonderful for each and every camper who visits.

Current volunteer needs include, but are not limited to:
† Counseling (particularly Christian Friendship camps)
† Helping with maintenance and repairs on site
Currently the only positions available at Northern Pines are summer positions. If you would like to be considered for a summer position, please fill out an application (click on "Forms" on the menu at left) and send it to the conference office, not to Northern Pines. We accept applications year-round, but interviews are held in January and February.
Please note that summer positions begin in early June and run for 11 weeks (middle August).
Each year we typically hire people for the following positions:
Treehouse Counselor (4 positions [2 male, 2 female]) (Salaried)
Responsible for campers during the week, including leading small group discussions, Bible studies, large and small group games. Some activities during the week include visiting Itasca State Park, biking on the Heartland Trail, horseback riding, canoeing the Crow Wing River, and waterskiing/tubing. Counselors must be 18 years or older by summer.
Christian Friendship Program Coordinator (1 Position) (Salaried)
Christian Friendship is a camp for adults with developmental disabilities. This position supervises health and safety for activities at Christian Friendship Camps, administers the financial aspects of the program, work with volunteer deans as a program resource/support person, and provides leadership and guidance to other program staff (prefer 21 years or older). Must have experience working with developmentally disabled individuals.
Friendship Counselor (2 Positions: 1 male, 1 female) (Salaried)
Responsible for Christian Friendship campers during the week. Must be patient and have a passion for working with developmentally delayed persons. This camp spends time doing crafts, swimming, worshiping, playing games, and more. (Must be 18 years or older)
Kitchen Assistants (1 or 2) (Hourly)
Primary responsibility is helping cooks prepare all meals for campers. Other responsibilities may include cleaning and assisting with program needs.
Lifeguards (varies based on skills of counselors) (Hourly)
Will work with other lifeguards to make sure the camp maintains a safe waterfront. Qualified applicants must have Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid & CPR certifications by the start of the summer.
